Gerardo Hernandez of Tortuga Sportfishing at La Paz reported hot midsummer weather with some cloudy skies, but with no rain and no local effect from the strong earthquakes recorded in the central Sea of Cortez during the week. "There was no damage and the only sense of it was from the news," Hernandez said. "The fishing at La Paz was very slow on some days, but our captains worked hard and found limits of dorado and tuna for our clients.
"Marlin were hooked and released at Isla Cerralvo, but no wahoo were found. Inshore, some smaller roosterfish were caught.
